How to Fix a Bruise FastWednesday, July 27th, 2011, 1:41 pm
Summertime is time for skirts, shorts, and sleeveless shirts. If you’re active it can also be time for bangs, bumps, and bruises. Sometimes you can end up with an unsightly and unexpected bruise on your face, arms, or legs that looks like you’re a member of the Olympic Shot-Put Catching Team. Usually it takes 7-14 long days for a bruise to go away, depending on the person and the severity of the bruise. This is usually only a minor inconvenience unless you are giving an important presentation, attending a seminar, social event or photo shoot where you don’t really want to explain, yet again, how you aggressively caught that softball with your cheek.
Being an easy bruiser myself I was really interested when Dr. Bitter, the San Francisco based dermatologist and inventor of the Photo Facial ®, showed me how to use Broad Band Light Therapy (BBL) to drastically reduce a bruises healing time by HALF! Now BBL can stand for “Black and Blue Lightener”. BBL speeds bruise healing by breaking up and allowing your body to more quickly carry away the blood which causes the bruise. BBL can have that black and blue out of sight in just 3-7 days depending on the person, size and location of the bruise. Now you can beat the black and blue right out of that bruise with BBL!
